Projects
The Social Ministry & Parish Life Committee is St. James' face to our surrounding community. This committee also fosters relationships among our parishioners with events like the quarterly bingos and senior league. On a regular basis the Committee spearheads projects to help others including bake sales, Links of Love, Lap Blankets, clothing and school supply drives, hygiene kits, holiday baskets and Christmas gifts. All of the proceeds from these projects are donated to the local community. Helping needy families, elderly individuals, the Hunterdon Developmental Center & battered women’s shelters are just a few who benefit from the hard work of the Social Ministry & Parish Life Committee.
In addition, the Committee participates in the Family Promise Program to collect dinners for the hungry and they assemble sleeping mats for Project Homeless Connect. There is always something to do and volunteers are welcome at all times. Please consider joining even if you do not attend St. James by e-mailing our church office at strawchurch@gmail.com
